Italy’s Under-17 National Team, the reigning European champions, are preparing to begin their European qualifying campaign, with the first round taking place in Armenia from 11 to 17 November. The team completed a training camp from 4 to 7 November in Granozzo con Monticello, in the province of Novara, which ended with a 1-0 friendly win over Federico Moretti's Genoa on Pitch 7 of the Centro Sportivo Novarello Villaggio Azzurro thanks to a 31st-minute winner from Milan forward Gabriele Borsa.

The Azzurrini will be competing in Group 10 and will open their campaign against Luxembourg at the Vahagn Tumasyan Stadium in Abovyan on Wednesday 11 November (09:00). They will then face hosts Armenia at the FFA Academy Stadium in Yerevan on Saturday 14 November (12:00), before returning to Abovyan to take on France on Tuesday 17 November (11:00).

The top two teams from each of the 14 groups will advance to the second round in League A, with Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czechia, Cyprus, Iceland, Romania, Spain and Switzerland already having secured their places. The remaining 26 teams will compete in League B.

Following this morning's friendly against Genoa's Under-17 side, head coach Manuel Pasqual announced his 20-man squad for the qualifiers. All players were born in 2010 and will depart from Milan for the Armenian capital tomorrow.
