The start of the post-World Cup season has brought Italy more points but no change in position. The Azzurri remain 15th in the latest FIFA Ranking, which is still led by Spain, with Argentina and France completing the top three.

Italy gained 5.55 points from their four Nations League matches, allowing Donnarumma and his teammates to close the gap on Croatia and Germany. The two sides have slipped to 14th and 13th respectively after both being overtaken by Switzerland, who now sit twelfth.

Portugal have also moved into the top five, climbing two places to fifth after leapfrogging Brazil, now sixth, and Morocco, now seventh. Two African sides are among the biggest climbers in the top 50: Mali, now 47th, and South Africa, 48th, both moved up six places. Just above them, Greece have risen to 41st following a four-match unbeaten run.

The next FIFA Ranking will be published on 18 November.
