The Under-21 national team will play its final match of the season on Monday, 8 June at 18:15 CEST, when they face Albania in a friendly at the ‘Omero Tognon’ stadium in Fontanafredda. This will be the seventh meeting between the Azzurrini and Albania, with the record strongly favouring Italy, who have won five of their six previous encounters, with the only draw coming in a friendly in June 2016 (0-0 in San Benedetto del Tronto).

NUNZIATA. Due to Silvio Baldini’s commitment with the senior national team, the Under-21 side will be led by Under-20 coach Carmine Nunziata, who has been on the touchline for the Under-21s on 23 previous occasions during the 2023/2025 period. This marks just the second time in history that the Azzurrini will play in Fontanafredda, with the only previous match dating back to November 1986: a 0–0 draw against Austria. On that day, the Italian side featured Nicola Berti in attack, as well as a central defensive duo of Billy Costacurta and Paolo Maldini.
