A new role, this time representing the Azzurri. Angelo Agus has been appointed head of delegation of the Italy Under-15 national team by FIGC Extraordinary Commissioner Giovanni Malagò. Coached by Enrico Battisti, the Under-15s recently finished 12th out of 189 participating national teams at the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival, held in Azerbaijan from 24 to 30 October.

‘By appointing Angelo Agus as head of delegation of the Under-15 national team, we want to further strengthen the development of our youth national teams,’ said Extraordinary Commissioner Giovanni Malagò. ‘Agus brings over 30 years of experience in coaching, education and football administration, built on expertise and passion. His career embodies the values of merit, commitment and dedication to young people that the FIGC seeks to promote.’

‘I would like to thank Malagò for his trust in me and for giving me this opportunity,’ said Angelo Agus. ‘I am proud and highly motivated. In my new role, I will support the coaching staff and players in their development, with particular attention to the young players wearing the Azzurri shirt for the first time, while upholding the values and principles of Club Italia.’

Originally from Soleminis, in the province of Cagliari, Agus brings more than 30 years of experience across coaching, education and football administration. He has spent much of his career in Sardinia, working his way up from grassroots and youth football to positions of responsibility at provincial, regional and national level.

His football journey began in the early 1990s at Oratorio Don Milani in Soleminis, before taking him to numerous clubs across the island: Dolianova, Serdiana, Settimo, Gialeto, Pirri, Asseminese, Villaputzu, Pula and Quartu. These experiences saw him work across different levels of the game, from youth football to women's Serie A2, developing his technical and organisational expertise. Whether as a coach, technical director or coordinator, his focus has always been on educating and developing young players.

Alongside his coaching career, Agus also established himself in football administration. In 2002, he became president of the AIAC in the Province of Cagliari, before leading the association at regional level in Sardinia from 2011 to 2024. Over the years, he joined the Arbitration Panel of the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti in Rome and the Council of the Comitato Regionale Sardegna. He has also worked as a consultant and instructor on UEFA courses and contributed to the organisational activities of the Settore Giovanile e Scolastico [Youth and School Department].

His career has also included collaborations with major clubs such as Bologna, Cagliari, Chievo Verona, Inter and Roma, as well as work with foreign football federations, embassies and national and international institutions. In recent years, he has taken on further responsibilities. Since 2022, he has served as general director and instructor at Club Sardegna Calcio, taking on the same role at Club Sardegna International in 2024. In 2025, he also became a national board member of the AIAC.
