The first of two scheduled test matches at Caorle’s ‘Giovanni Chiggiato’ municipal stadium ended in a 1-1 draw for the Italy Under-16 team against Germany. The Azzurrini opened the scoring in the 35th minute thanks to Fiorentina playmaker Federico Croci, before Bayern Munich forward Vedat Turbić equalised in the 59th minute.

Coach Manuel Pasqual commented, “We played well today, even though the pitch wasn’t in the best condition, which affected both our play and theirs. Beyond that, it was an excellent test against a strong team. The boys did well to adapt to the challenges they faced, demonstrating their tactical awareness.”

Italy will face Germany again in Caorle on Monday at 11:00 CEST for the return leg of this double friendly. The Azzurrini coach noted ‘We will assess whether to make some changes over the next few days ahead of Monday’s match.”
