After topping their group, winning three games from three, Massimiliano Favo’s Under 18’s will be back in action tomorrow to take on the Cezch Republic, in Qatar.

The Coach spoke ahead of the match; “Czech Republic are a physical side and tactically astute. We can’t rely on the fact that we’ve already beaten them (Italy 2-1 Czech Republic, 20 May), because every match is a story in itself. The matches are very risky and the balances on the pitch are subtle at the moment. The boys are motivated. We’re ready to have our say and we’re banking on a good performance.

OPPOSITION. Pavel Drsek’s side booked their spot for the World Cup after finishing with seven points in Group 7, level with Germany but ahead on goal difference. They reached the finals phase of the European Championships in Albania, where they lost 2-1 to Italy in their opening game.

Their qualification to the Round of 32 came as they finished third in their group on three points behind Burkina Faso and the United States. In the group stage, they lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso, 1–0 to the United States and beat Tajikistan 6-1 on the opening day.

This is the second time that the Czech Republic have competed in the Under-17 World Cup, after their participation in the 2011 tournament in Mexico. On that occasion, their campaign ended in the group stage, with three points, finishing behind New Zealand, United States and Uzbekistan.
