In Rome, Ambassador Karin Höglund wore Sweden’s shirt and was presented with a personalised Azzurra jersey by Federica Cappelletti, President of Serie A Women, and Laura Tinari, President of Serie B Women, before watching the match on the big screen.
Also attending the event were Madelen Janogy, the Swedish Fiorentina striker, former Viola player Lisa Ek, and Stéphanie Öhrström, who also previously played for ACF Fiorentina and AS Roma Women and is now assistant coach of the Giallorossi Under-17 side.
Everyone then came together to watch the match at the Stadio Oreste Granillo, where Sweden defeated Italy 1–0 thanks to a goal from Angeldahl.
