A convincing win for the Women’s U15 team, who beat Scotland 2-1 in the first of two friendlies scheduled at the Olympic Preparation Centre in Tirrenia (the second match will take place on Thursday at 11:00 CEST). Italy set up the win inside the opening half hour, thanks to goals from Inter players Rita Signorelli and Greta Della Morte. Early in the second half, however, Scotland pulled one back through midfielder Lucy Horberry. The Azzurrine remained composed, though, managing the match well through to the final whistle, to the satisfaction of head coach Marco Dessì.

“The result is not the important thing,” Dessì commented. “What matters is the development of these players, who, through matches like this, are gaining valuable international experience. Since March, across our training camps and fixtures, 35 players have had the opportunity to test themselves, facing quality opposition in games where it is essential to maintain intensity from the first minute to the last.”
