Spain, Wales and Israel for the Under-19s; Norway, Austria and Northern Ireland for the Under-17s. The groups for Round 1 of the Women’s Youth European Championship qualifiers have been drawn in Nyon, with the final tournaments set to take place in Hungary (Under-19) and Finland (Under-17).
The first of the two teams in action will be the Under-17s, with Group A1 scheduled to be hosted by Norway from 7 to 13 October. The venue for Group A2 of the Under-19 European qualifiers, which will be played between late November and early December, will be announced at a later date.
Both competitions will follow the same format: at the end of Round 1, the top three teams in each League A group will progress to Round 2, which will take place in the spring, together with the group winners from League B. The fourth-placed teams in each League A group at the end of Round 1 will be relegated to League B for Round 2.
Both European Championships will also serve as qualification tournaments for the subsequent FIFA World Cups. The Under-17 World Cup, now held annually, will once again take place in Morocco, while the Under-20 World Cup will be staged in 2028, following next September’s edition, for which Italy has already qualified.
