Today, FIFA announced the finalists for the best male and female manager awards. The three male candidates consist of Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, Roberto Mancini, Italy Head Coach, and Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel. As for the women’s category, those in contention: Lluís Cortés of Barcelona, Chelsea’s Emma Hayes and Sarina Wiegman, head coach of the Netherlands and England. Votes will be cast by two international panels of judges formed by the current coaches of the women’s/men’s teams (one per team), a journalist specialised in representing each team and fans registered on FIFA.com. FIFA will tomorrow unveil the names of the three nominees for The Best FIFA Player Award for men and women at a live virtual event starting at 3 pm, in which Kristine Lilly and Sami Khedira will participate. The announcement of all awards will take place on January 17th live from the FIFA headquarters.
