Roberto Mancini's new-look Italy is beginning to take shape. The staff that will work alongside the Azzurri head coach from September onwards have now been announced, as preparations begin for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Turkïye, France and Belgium. Mancini will be joined by Gabriele Oriali, a member of Italy's 1982 World Cup-winning squad, who returns as team manager after previously serving in the role under both Antonio Conte and Mancini himself. The Italy head coach has also appointed Alberto Bollini as his assistant, with Leonardo Bonucci, Antonio Gagliardi and Massimo Maccarone joining as technical assistants.

The former Italy Under-19 coach brings extensive experience gained in youth development with Club Italia – which culminated in victory at the 2023 U19 Euros – and will join Mancini as his first assistant in this new role. Bonucci continues his journey with the national team after serving on Gennaro Gattuso's coaching staff, while Gagliardi (who worked as a match analyst during Italy's triumphant Euro 2020 campaign) returns to the Azzurri in a technical coaching role following spells with Juventus, Parma, clubs in Saudi Arabia and most recently in Iran. For Maccarone, meanwhile, it marks his first role with the senior national team. Having previously worked alongside Mancini at Al Sadd in Qatar, he has also gained coaching experience as Silvio Baldini's assistant at Carrarese and as head coach of Ghiviborgo and Piacenza in Serie D.

Completing the Italy coaching staff are Marco Roccati as goalkeeping coach, assisted by Cristiano Lupatelli, fitness coaches Giacomo Ceci and Marco Montini, and match analysts Renato Baldi and Christian Venturini.
