A new chapter for the Italy Under-17 team, the reigning European champions, will begin in Hungary, where they will start their season by taking part in the 45th edition of the Telki Cup, running from August 26 to 30.

The Azzurrini will play all three of their matches on Pitch 2 of the Globall Football Park in Telki. They will begin against Turkey on Wednesday 26 August (15:15 CEST), before taking on Saudi Arabia on Friday 28 August (15:15 CEST) and, finally, hosts Hungary on Sunday 30 August (17:30 CEST).

Head coach Manuel Pasqual has called up 22 players for the tournament, all born in 2010. The squad will meet on Sunday 23 August in Cardano al Campo, in Varese, before travelling to Budapest the following day.

Italy's most recent appearance in the competition came two years ago, when Massimiliano Favo's side (who has since been promoted to head coach of the Italy Under-19 team) finished top of the standings with seven points. They beat Iceland 4-3 and South Korea 2-0, as well as drawing 2-2 with hosts Hungary.
