Applause, chants of “Italia, Italia”, and excited faces from the young fans marked the start of this morning’s event, organised by the FIGC’s Youth and School Sector, featuring several players from the Women’s National Team, led by Delegation Head Sara Gama, and the students of the Istituto Comprensivo Toscanini. Around 150 children, from Year 4 to Year 9, had the opportunity to spend an hour with the Azzurre, who are set to face Brazil tomorrow at the Tardini Stadium (kick-off at 18:15 CET, live on Rai 2) in a prestigious friendly match.

Parma captain Caterina Ambrosi and her teammates Barbara Bonansea, Francesca Durante, Laura Giuliani, Elena Linari, Beatrice Merlo, Nadine Nischler, Marta Pandini and Emma Severini, received a heroes welcome and were greatly touched by the youngsters’ show of support. “It’s amazing to see so many kids so excited to meet us,” said Bonansea. “You really hype us up”, added Severini, who encouraged the young fans to cheer for them again tomorrow from the stands.

After photo opportunities, the Azzurre held a Q&A session for the students, sharing how their love for football began, the sacrifices they made to follow their dreams, and the major progress the women’s game has made in recent years. It was an encounter filled with passion for the national team that united players and students alike. Everyone left the school hall feeling inspired and the desire to keep cheering for Italy, this time, from the stands of the Tardini, which in just over 24 hours will be filled with Azzurre shirts and Tricolore flags. 

TICKETING. Tickets for the game (Tuesday, 18:15 CET, live on Rai 2) are available at authorised Vivaticket outlets and on vivaticket.com. Discounts are available for Under-18s, Over-65s, university students enrolled for the current academic year, and Parma Calcio season-ticket holders. 

On Tuesday, starting from 16:15 CET, tickets will also be available for purchase at the stadium box office (Via Pier Maria Rossi).
