Pellegrini and Politano leave the camp; Frattesi, Gabbiadini and Salvatore Esposito called up

Italy’s preparations for Friday’s Nations League game against England continued today, with the Azzurri focusing on their penultimate game in the group stage. Yesterday, the Azzurri held their first training session and will train again this afternoon.

Following Marco Verratti, who left the camp yesterday due to an injury he picked up on Sunday evening in PSG’s Ligue 1 game against Lyon, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Matteo Politano have now also left the group and will rejoin their respective clubs this morning.

As a result, Mancini has called up Salvatore Esposito (SPAL – he was already with the Under-21s), Davide Frattesi (Sassuolo) and Manolo Gabbiadini (Sampdoria), all of whom will arrive at Coverciano in the coming hours.
