Mattia Zaccagni will no longer be part of the next squad after picking up an injury in training yesterday, ruling him out of the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Estonia (11 October, Tallinn) and Israel (14 October, Udine).

In his place, Gennaro Gattuso has called up Fiorentina striker Roberto Piccoli, who has received his first senior Italy call-up. The Azzurri will gather on the evening of Monday 6 October at the Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano.
