Building on the positive second-half performance against Sweden while also aiming to move past the disappointing result, the Azzurre returned to work at Coverciano yesterday to prepare for their next World Cup qualifying match against Denmark, scheduled for Saturday at 18:15 CET in Vicenza.

If the start of the journey to the World Cup in Brazil proved disappointing in terms of points, Soncin’s side will have an immediate opportunity to put the match at the Granillo behind them. Tomorrow afternoon, after the pre-match press conference and their final training session at Coverciano, the Azzurre will travel to Veneto for a crucial fixture. Qualification will be based on a small group, consisting of four teams, including Serbia, who were beaten in Denmark in their opening match, with only the group winners securing direct passage to the World Cup.

Biancorossi enthusiasm. Tickets for the match at the ‘Romeo Menti’ keep selling, with 4,500 already bought. Vicenza is currently riding a wave of footballing fever, with the Biancorossi sitting top of Serie C Group A with a 16-point lead over second place. On Saturday, for those who are not travelling to Gorgonzola at 14:30 CET to follow Lanerossi’s away match against Giana Erminio, there will be the chance to support the Azzurre at their home stadium.

Half-time show. The late-afternoon event at the ‘Menti’ will also feature a musical performance during the half-time of Italy vs. Denmark. The singer Sarah Toscano, who, like coach Soncin, is from Vigevano, will perform several songs from her debut album Met Gala.

Ticket office. Tickets will remain on sale until 18:15 CET on Saturday through authorised Vivaticket agencies and on the websites figc.vivaticket.it and vivaticket.com, with discounts available for Under-18s and Over-65s.
